We are back from a successful weekend in Oklahoma City racing at Head of the Oklahoma on October 7th and 8th. Of the 36 WashU athletes who competed, 28 left with a medal around their neck--4 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze. Pictures from the weekend can be found on our Facebook page HERE.
On Saturday, we competed in the following events:
Men’s 4+ A: 1st
Men’s 4+ B: 3rd
Women’s 8+: 15th
Novice Men’s 8+: 5th
Men’s 8+: 1st
Novice Women’s 8+: 8th
Novice Men’s 4+: 5th
Women’s 4+: 17th
And on Saturday night the following crews competed in the 500m Night Sprints events:
Women’s 4+: 1st
Men’s 4+ A: 3rd
Men’s 4+ B: 6th
We finished up with more races on Sunday morning:
Women’s 2-: 29th
Men’s 4+: 2nd
Varsity Mixed 8+: 1st
Novice Mixed 8+: 3rd
This was the first regatta for our novice rowers, and we can’t wait to see what they will bring to our next races!
