Lincoln Park Boat Club

CHICAGO, IL -- Despite it being Summer, members of WashU Crew can’t get enough racing! This weekend, July 8th and 9th, WashU Crew rowers, coxswains, and alumni met up at the Chicago Sprints Regatta hosted by Lincoln Park Boat Club. WashU Crew was represented heavily in the Men’s Open 8+ event, with Matt Heiken ‘19 racing for Saint Louis Rowing Club, Brooks Becker ‘19 racing for St. Ignatius, and recent alum Ben Rosenbaum ‘16 racing for Lincoln Park Boat Club. SLRC edged out LPBC for the win, setting a new course record of 2:55. Matt Heiken also competed with SLRC in the Men’s Open 4+, and Ben Rosenbaum competed for LPBC in the Men’s Open 4+, Men’s Masters 4+, and Men’s Masters 8+. Additionally, rower Catherine Tiffany ‘19 and coxswain and recent graduate Courtney Oei ‘17 raced for WashU in the Women’s Open 2x event. It was a new experience for Courtney Oei, who had not rowed competitively since freshman year! The Chicago Sprints Regatta was a fun way to meet up over the summer, and we are looking forward to sending even more rowers next year!
